Join HydroAgent-Lab

Work on practical AI systems for hydrologic forecasting.

We welcome contributors who can connect hydrology, software, product judgment, and operational responsibility.

Start a conversation

We are looking for contributors who can take ownership of real work.

This is currently community-driven and volunteer-led. The right fit is someone who wants to build useful systems, produce credible evidence, and learn through serious collaboration.

Code and technical work are organized on GitHub; day-to-day discussion happens in WeChat groups, both free to join, with translation that helps people work across languages.

We promise that every contribution will be seen and respected.

People who tend to thrive here.

  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and can turn a rough domain problem into a concrete artifact.
  • You care about evidence, not just presentation.
  • You can explain your work clearly to people outside your own specialty.
  • You respect hydrologic expertise and real operational constraints.
  • You are willing to build, test, revise, and document.
  • You prefer clear collaboration over formal titles.

Open Collaboration Tracks

What you can contribute

01

Hydrology and forecasting practice

Bring basin knowledge, model review experience, warning-release workflows, or frontline operational questions.

02

AI agents and software engineering

Build interfaces, orchestration, evaluation tooling, and reliable deployment paths.

03

Research

HydroAgent-related research questions, validation protocols, datasets, figures, and publishable content.

04

Product and design translation

Shape demos, documentation, product narratives, user research, and partner-facing workflow materials.

How to Join

Start with a focused note, not a formal application.

01

Introduce your background

Tell us where you work or study, what you know, and what you want to contribute.

02

Choose a concrete thread

Point to a product module, research question, workflow problem, or demo artifact you want to help with.

03

Start small

We start with a scoped task or conversation, then decide whether deeper collaboration makes sense.
